"Have been in Utility listening since late 1950s Learnt morse code from the CQ and V markers - lot's around then. In 1962 moved to Africa, Zambia/Malawi and had 18 years there. Licenced as VQ2BC / 9J2BC / 7Q7BC but still found time for utility listening. Was a member of the elite RCDXC and much 'juicy' DX was logged there, still have all my old logbooks, very 'dog-eared' now. Biggest regret I never made any sound recordings of all those voice/cw markers that abounded then. Back in UK in since 1980 my utility listening still continues with as much enthusiasm. The photo here was taken a 'few' years ago in my Hastings shack."
