Norddeich Radio (DAN) :

The station was closed down in 1998 after many years of excellent service. in 2012, the callsign 'DAJ' was reactivated by 'Hamburg Radio', a private coastal station

a voice mirror from the late 1960's (Rudolf P Gröger)
another voice mirror, from my own collection (rb, 1971)
here is a voice mirror identifying as 'DAJ', giving listening freq's in german (Willi Passmann)
and at last, a telegraph call from 1984 (rb)
listen to their call from 2182 kHz, recorded in 1988 by Rudy van Dalen

this picture looks like an advertisement for Norddeich's services (from the 1950s) (Fritz Deiters)
in 1969 they denied giving out QSL cards (rb)
an undetailed letter from 1971, from the Hamburg radio administration of DBP (Hans-Friedrich Dumrese)
in 1972, the answer of the central radio office Hamburg was in a rather neutral way (Nils Schiffhauer, 1972)
still, this card is not a real QSL (Frank Schüttig, 1975)
at least, this QSL for the time signals of the hydrographic institute is a real one (Frank Schüttig, 1977)
in 1980, they sent this letter to Rudy van Dalen, complaining about the many reports that violate the secrecy of the CONTENT of the transmission
here 2 photos from a leaflet '75 years of Norddeich Radio' (1985)
from 1988, here an 'almost' detailed and qualified QSL by PPC from the collection of Dieter Pohlmann
Joop Balneger received this first real QSL-letter from the station in 1991
detailed letter verifying the diplomatic presscast of PIAB Bonn, transmitted via Norddeich Radio (Lars Lundström, 1997)
this qsl arrived in 1997 - nice after all the years.... (ti 25)
from 1997, this picture shows the reduced working area of what once was a famous and worldwide known coastal station

a site with more pictures and info on Norddeich Radio, by former employees.
the above museum has a flyer with nice pictures (in german) - look at it here! (Fritz Deiters)
the former station chief, Fritz Deiters, also has a very informative homepage.

here is a short movie on the closing of Norddeich Radio, found on YouTube by Rudy van Dalen (in german)
